WHAT IS TAPPING / EFT?

  • a somatic (body based) exercise that combines tapping on acupressure points with focused speech
  • the tapping sends calming messages to our amygdala (a key part of the brain in charge of our emotional responses) so that we can decrease stress and create safety to rebalance emotions and re-wire our subconscious mind
  • letting go of old / negative thought patterns and fear, old deep seated beliefs that have been “running the show” so that we can take action from a more empowered place and get new results in our lives
  • not traditional (western, secular) so it has a disruptive, avant garde, progressive leaning. We are moving emotions and feelings through what can seem like an esoteric or even spiritual approach, even though the technique is rooted in science
  • part of the 4th wave of the healing revolution – because it’s body based (similar to EMDR, eye movement therapy) moving beyond the purely cognitive approach of the 3rd wave
